陕西文化三大家，路遥、陈忠实、贾平凹，正是三秦大地陕北、关中、陕南三个不同地域孕育的典型代表人物，他们各有千秋，各领风骚。
The three great literary figures of Shaanxi, Lu Yao, Chen Zhongshi, and Jia Pingwa have different writing features. They are typical representatives of the three regions of Shaanxi, namely Northern Shaanxi, Guanzhong Plain and Southern Shaanxi.
路遥是抗争，与天与地与人斗以求变；陈忠实是觅根，从厚重的关中历史底蕴中汲取营养；而贾平凹是洒脱，灵敏地挥洒着陕南的秀气。
Lu Yao is featured by unremitting resistance for changes, fighting against destiny; Chen Zhongshi by roots, absorbing nutrition from the long history of Guanzhong; while Jia Pingwa by lightness, interpreting the elegance of Southern Shaanxi in a natural manner.

作者介绍/About the Author
原名"贾平娃"，贾平凹是他的笔名，虽然读音相同，但是这一字之差却让这位作家的名字看起来与文学密不可分。贾平凹1952年出生于陕西丹凤县棣花镇，现为全国人大代表、中国作家协会副主席。他是我国当代文坛文学大家，也是当代中国最富创造精神和广泛影响的具有世界意义的作家，代表作有《秦腔》、《废都》、《高兴》等长篇小说16部以及中短篇小说、散文等。
Born as "贾平娃", he chose "贾平凹" as his pen name. Though they pronounce the same, the character "凹"(wa) makes his name more special and more literary. Jia Pingwa, born in 1952 in Dihua town, Danfeng county, Shaanxi Province, is now a deputy to the National People's Congress and vice-chairman of the Chinese Writers' Association. More importantly, he is one of the most creative and influential writers in China and the world. His representative works include 16 full-length novels, such as Qin Opera, Ruined City, Happy Dreams, as well as short and medium-length novels and essays.
他曾在他的小说《山本》中写到，"秦岭，一道龙脉，横亘在那里，提携着黄河长江，统领了北方南方，他是中国最伟大的一座山，当然他更是最中国的一座山。"
In his book The Root of Mountain, he wrote“The Qinling Mountains is the most important mountain in China straddling the Yellow River and the Yangtze River as the border dividing north and south.
如果说故乡是一座山，他用四十多年的笔墨写满了秦岭，这座他心里最中国的山。在他大多数作品里我们都能感受到贾平凹对土地深厚的情结，他在小说中反复张扬的主题之一就是土地是农民的生命，是农民的生存支柱。其次，关怀个体生存，也是贾平凹小说的重要主题，他创造的人物形象身上都浸透了贾平凹对人性的探究、对个体生存的意义及实现途径的思考。
He spent more than 40 years writing about the Qinling Mountains, which is the best epitome of China in his heart. In almost all his works, we can feel Jia Pingwa's deep affection for the land. One of the recurring themes in his novels is that the land is the life of the peasants and the pillar of their survival. Besides, caring for individual survival is also an important theme of Jia Pingwa's novels. The characters he created are all imbued with Jia Pingwa's inquiry into human nature and his thoughts on the meaning of individual survival and the ways to achieve it.
作品/Works
提到贾平凹的作品，有四本是无论如何也绕不开的。他的作品引起了国内外读者的共鸣，也赢得了众多奖项。
When it comes to Jia's works, we have to mention those four books. His works are well received by readers at home and abroad and won dozens of awards.
*《浮躁》Fickleness
这本书写于1987年，彼时贾平凹36岁，有着浓厚的文学创作热情。这本书一经出版即引起巨大轰动，奠定了贾平凹在文坛的实力派地位，是一部经典之作。它的译本还在美国获得了美孚飞马文学奖。
Fickleness was created in 1987 when Jia Pingwa was at the age of 36 with a strong passion for literary creation. Once being published, this classical book had a huge impact on literary circles. And the translation won the Mobil Pegasus Prize for Literature in the United States.
1989年贾平凹父亲去世，经历种种家庭变故，他面临的是和之前不同的家庭问题、社会问题。矛盾和困惑交织，贾平凹开始了一些关于人生更深刻的思考。他不再满足于写故事，他开始探索新的方向，写人性、写人生，开始了长篇小说《废都》的创作。
After his father's death in 1989 and other misfortunes in his family, Jia Pingwa had some more profound thinking about life and started to explore new path of literary creation, commencing the creation of this full-length novel.
1997年，有着深刻社会意义的《废都》在法国获得费米娜文学奖。
Ruined City, a book carrying profound social significance, won the Prix Femina Étranger in France in 1997.
*《秦腔》Qin Opera
贾平凹自2003年初开始动笔写作《秦腔》，历时近两年，四次易稿。贾平凹称《秦腔》是他费时最长、修改最多、最耗心血的一部作品。也是贾平凹最知名的一部作品，2009年获得了中国象征最高文学成就的茅盾文学奖。
In 2003, Jia started to write Qin Opera, which took two years and went through four modifications. Qin Opera, the most time-consuming work among all his works, won Mao Dun Literature Prize in 2009, the highest literary award in China.
*《高兴》Happy Dreams
2007年出版的《高兴》为贾平凹先生历时三年的心血之作，描写了一个叫刘高兴的陕北民工进城打工的故事，体现了作者对农民的一贯关注。
Jia Pingwa spent a long time writing this book, which depicts the story of Liu Gaoxing, a migrant worker from northern Shaanxi, who goes to work in the city, interpreting Mr. Jia's consistent concern for peasants.
He once said, " Maybe I'm born to be a writer, being accompanied by my pens and my books." He has written 15 million words over 45 years, interpreting his roots and his love for his hometown.
陕西作家中，贾平凹是非常高产的一位，如今临近七十岁仍在坚持文学创作，他常说，“我总是希望我的下一部作品会更好, 我希望自己的作品走得更远一些，这样的话使用不同语言的读者都能读到它”。
Jia Pingwa is one of the most prolific Shaanxi writers, and he is still writing at the age of 70. He said, "I always hope that my next work will be better and go further, so that readers in different regions can read it.”
当我们读着他的文字，也仿佛在读贾平凹的人生，因为他始终，在以文学的方式和这个世界相处。
Literary works is the way Jia Pingwa gets along with the world. When we read his words, it is as if we are reading his life.
